Wireless charging technology

At today's TechCrunch Disrupt conference in New York, Nikola Labs (Nikola Labs) demonstrated a new technology that can be called the future smart phone battery savior. Nicholas Lab demonstrated this technology with an iPhone 6 mobile phone protective case. The protective case itself can directly obtain energy from the surrounding WiFi, Bluetooth and LTE wireless signals, and charge the mobile phone. The battery life of the iPhone 6 is also improved. By about 30%.

This protective case is mainly composed of two parts. One is the "capture" part, which can obtain energy directly from radio signals; and the "RF-DC" conversion module can convert the captured energy into direct current that can be used by the mobile phone. Surprisingly, this protective case can work without additional power supply.

Nicholas Lab said that 90% of the energy consumed by smartphones to maintain voice calls and data connections is wasted in the air. In order to convert the technology into actual products as soon as possible, the laboratory also launched a crowdfunding project.

The mobile phone case using this technology will be officially launched at the end of September, priced at US$99 (approximately RMB 615)
